FAQs

The safety of our customers and staff is our number one priority. We have put an extensive range of protective measures in place as explained below and shown on the video above.

  • All of the GoClimb crew have attended Covid-19 training.
  • All bookings must be made online prior to arriving at GoClimb Billingham Forum.
  • The capacity of each session has been reduced from 24 to 12.
  • Social distancing measures have been implemented across the venue. This includes a waiting area on arrival and a spacious briefing area. If a climbing wall is in use climbers won’t be able to use neighbouring walls. Non-climbers who are spectating their children should preferably stay in the spectator area; however, if you enter the climbing zone you must stay with the climber and position yourself on the floor markings at the foot of each wall.
  • Hand sanitising stations are located around the venue and climbers will be provided with hand sanitiser before every climb by a member of the GoClimb crew.
  • Visitors will fit their own harnesses with the help of their parents/guardians following a demonstration by a member of the team. It’s nice and simple but the GoClimb crew will double check that everyones harnesses are fitted correctly.
  • The GoClimb crew will be wearing face coverings at all times and will check harnesses from behind and clip climbers on and off the walls from the side to reduce contact.
  • Visitors as well as parents/guardians aged 11+ will be required to wear face coverings at all times except when climbing a wall. Exemptions apply.
  • The Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that customers use (harnesses) will be rotated after every use.

We have increased our cleaning regime at GoClimb and all of our team members have been on appropriate Covid-19 training. Before and after each session all areas of GoClimb will be cleaned thoroughly. To ensure we can do this we have increased the amount of time between each session.

Hand sanitising stations are located around the venue and climbers will be provided with hand sanitiser before every climb by a member of the GoClimb crew.

The Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that customers use (harnesses) will be rotated after every use.

We have also implemented a range of other safety measures. Please see the first FAQ for more information.

All bookings must be made through the GoClimb dedicated online booking system here. This will help us to control and assess the flow of visitors in the early stages of reopening. During this time there will be no walk up visitors allowed.

To help keep the number of people in GoClimb to a minimum we must ask that strictly only one parent/guardian accompanies each child.

For example:

  • If one child has a session booked only one parent/guardian can come along.
  • If you are a family of four both parents will be able to come along with both children.

Siblings who are not taking part must not attend.

Non-climbers who are spectating their children should preferably stay in the spectator area; however, if you enter the climbing zone you must stay with the climber and position yourself on the floor markings at the foot of each wall. Please follow the guidance and adhere to this whilst your child is enjoying their climbing session.

Visitors as well as parents/guardians aged 11+ will be required to wear face coverings at all times from arrival to exiting GoClimb – this includes spectating. Under 11’s are also welcome to wear face coverings if they wish. Face coverings can however be removed when climbing a wall but must be put back on when you reach the bottom of the wall again. If you are exempt from wearing a face covering please mention this to a member of the GoClimb crew on your arrival.

We recommend coming no more than 20 minutes before the start time of your session. This gives our team enough time to go through the debriefing before your session starts.

On arrival please use the queuing system in place at Billingham Forum. Please then sign in at reception before heading upstairs to GoClimb. You will then be asked to wait to be seated by a member of the team ready for the safety briefing and to get harnessed up.

Yes many social distancing measures have been implemented across the venue.

We have also implemented a range of other safety measures. Please see the first FAQ for more information.

Unfortunately during this time visitors will not be able to climb on neighbouring walls even if they are in a family bubble. This decision has been made to avoid staff confusion with who is in a family bubble and who isn’t across the climbing area.

When GoClimb reopens all of the climbing walls and the spiralling stepping stones challenge will be open. However the drop slide and leap of faith challenges will be temporarily out of use to ensure the safety of our customers.

There will be 12 spaces available in each session to ensure the safety of our adventurers.

There are limited spaces on each session and these will be sold on a first come first serve basis.

Come in clothes that you are comfortable in as you’ll be stretching and reaching upwards. It is recommended that you wear clothes that aren’t too restrictive, but are not excessively baggy for yours and others safety.

We only allow trainers to be worn whilst climbing and do not allow boots, climbing shoes, flip-flops or heeled shoes in the climbing  zone. Make sure your shoelaces are tied and tuck away any loose ends. Please, also check your shoes are clean. No loose fitting footwear is allowed.

There is a spectator seating area so anyone with you who’s not getting involved can hang on to your belongings; however, we also have small secured lockers available for you to use. Please ask a member of the GoClimb crew and they will provide you with a key.

We want everyone to be able to access and fully enjoy GoClimb regardless of your level of ability. We have additional equipment in order to allow disabled users access to the walls with assistance. We appreciate the complexity of each individual’s ability and welcome you to give us a call on 01642 551381 so we can discuss your requirements further.

Yes, we have fully accessible toilets however these are restricted to 1 person or 1 family bubble at a time so we advise that you go to the toilet before you arrive at GoClimb to not interrupt your enjoyment and prevent any unnecessary taking off and putting on of your harnesses.
